Safety

Safety comes first at all times! The safety top 10:

  • Safety is everyone's job, including yours
  • Consider not only your own safety, but that of your others as well
  • Safety regulations may vary by location. Handle them on site as prescribed.
  • Always wear proper personal protective equipment (see PPE).
  • Leave your workplace, canteen and break rooms tidy. You are the business card of EVENEMENTENBOUWER.NL
  • Check your tools to make sure everything is working properly.
  • Use equipment for its intended purpose.
  • Alcohol and drugs before and during work is strictly prohibited and will result in summary dismissal.
  • Safety is human work; so is insecurity!

Appropriate PPE is:

  • You always wear work shoes (steel toe cap). No work shoes = no work = no pay.

  • Helmet when overhead work/hoisting is going on and when explicitly instructed.

  • If you are working at least 2 feet above floor level, you should always use a climbing harness and secure yourself. Without a harness, you are not allowed to go up! On the aerial platform, you also wear a climbing harness.

  • Use hearing protection (especially for truss work).

  • Only with a valid certificate you are allowed to drive a forklift, reach truck or aerial work platform. When doing so, always wear your seat belt and observe the rules on site.

Drivers

As a driver, you have additional responsibilities. You are responsible for arriving on time and communication regarding picking up your colleagues. Please keep the following points in mind:

  • Notify your colleagues in a timely manner (no later than 1 hour after receiving schedule).
  • When driving a company car: keep it neat. Don't use it as a garbage dump.
  • It is strictly forbidden to be under the influence of alcohol and drugs. This will result in summary dismissal.
  • Smoking is prohibited in the company car/bus.
  • Culpable damage to the vehicle is at your own expense.
  • Please obey the traffic rules. Fines are for your own account and there will be a € 25,00 administration charge!
  • Wear the seat belt and make sure your passengers do the same.

On site:

  • Upon arrival, report directly to your crew boss/foreman/liaison (even if you are early). He or she determines when you have a break and signs off the work slip at the end of the day. Always give them a copy of this as well.

  • Stay polite at all times! Always report problems to your offices liaison and never get into andiscussions on site (including with your colleagues). You are the business card of EVENEMENTSBOUWER.NL.

  • Make sure you start work well rested.
  • Wear work clothes. That means work pants or jeans and EVENEMENTBOUWER.NL T-shirt or vest.
  • Always wear a belt on your pants to hang the hammer holder. Working in sweatpants or without work shoes is prohibited.
  • Always carry your identification on you and, if applicable, your lift and/or reach truck certificate.
  • If you are working abroad make sure you have a valid Limosa & A1 statement with you (you will receive this by mail after registration).
  • Limit phone use during working hours. Private calls are allowed only during break time.
  • Use of drugs and alcohol before and during work are strictly prohibited and will cause summary dismissal.

Cancellation

At commencement, you indicate your availability. If you have not requested leave, we will automatically assume you are available to work. Cancellation is only accepted with a valid reason. If you cancel without a valid reason, you have to arrange for a replacement yourself and discuss this with the planner. Leave of absence must be requested in writing 2 weeks in advance via personeel@evenementenbouwer.nl.

Submitting hours

After the job is done, have the work slip signed off by the foreman. Make sure it is clearly filled out and that all names on the slip are correct so that the correct colleague gets paid. A copy of this work slip (along with any parking fees, train tickets, lunch vouchers, etc.) should be submitted immediately after work via personeel@evenementenbouwer.nl. Other claims should be turned in to the office along with a completed claim form by the end of the month.

Note: Food expenses can only be claimed if permission is given in advance. Without notice, you will provide your own food.
